Hello I am Amanda Allen and I offer instruction in lower level dressage, children's lessons, and driving. Dressage and American Saddlebred horses are my first love. I have been involved with horses and large farms since I was a child. I have experience in driving, eventing, and dressage. I spent several months as a working student with Carol and Richard Schmickrath of Brookstone Farms and I currently ride with Jessica Wisdom.
While I grew up with American Saddlebreds, I had the pleasure of riding Dutch Warmbloods that had been to the Olympics, and were FEI quality while in Texas. Their good nature, movement, size and temperament really drew me to them.
When I returned to Washington state I had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic Friesian crosses, these experiences have shaped where I wanted to go with my breeding program.
I want to produce horses that are amateur friendly, beautiful, have great minds, a lot of presence and the ability to become FEI level. I want to produce something not only versatile but that any rider can ride. It's important to me that these horses are able to hack out on the trails just as easily as go jump a course or come strutting down centerline.
Thus began my breeding program, we have produced some of the nicest Friesian cross and American Saddlebred foals, they have been incredibly easy to work with, tractable, incredible movers and absolutely stunning.
In 2017 I plan on expanding my broodmare herd, I'd like to add some more Warmblood and Saddlebred mares to the program. I hope to travel over to Holland in the next two years and purchase my own Friesian stallion to cross on these mares.
I am having so much fun with these babies, and I am so looking forward to building our program and making maybe your next Sporthorse. Keep checking back to see what we are producing for next year!
